Songs – Menu Options And Related Controls

Songs can be any audio file that this music player supports. At this time, they are ‘.mp3‘, ‘.wav‘ and ‘.wma‘. More are being added as development continues. Organize them any way you like in lists. Set their play parameters on an individual basis. Attach messages to them.

 

Audio File Information:
The first time songs are loaded into the player, they are analyzed to determine the following information which is then stored in the songs library.

  • The ‘name‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the names of songs are displayed.
  • The ‘path‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the path of songs is displayed.
  • The ‘duration‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the duration of songs is displayed.
  • Silence at the ‘beginning‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the amount of silence trimmed from the beginning of songs is displayed.
  • Silence at the ‘end‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the amount of silence trimmed from the end of songs is displayed.
This information is taken from the tag data of the audio file.

  • The audio file name. Image of column header where the tag name of songs is displayed.
  • The artist name. Image of column header where the tag artist of songs is displayed.
  • The album name. Image of column header where the tag album of songs is displayed.
  • The year of the audio file. Image of column header where the tag album year of songs is displayed.

 

Related Controls:

This control shows the total count of all loaded songs. Image of the control used to show count of played songs. This control shows the count of songs that have been played.

 

Options:
Below is a brief description of each option on the menu.

  • Add‘ songs to the end of the work-list. Any number of songs can be added at the same time.
    NOTE: Use the ‘Sort Song In …‘ option on the display_grid {Right-Click} ‘ menu to put the songs in alphabetical order in a list.
  • Insert‘ songs into the work-list before the selected item. Any number of songs can be inserted at the same time.
    NOTE: Use the ”Sort Song In …‘ option on the display_grid {Right-Click} ‘ menu to put the songs in alphabetical order in a list.
  • Delete‘ songs from the work-list. Any number of songs can be deleted at the same time. You are not asked to confirm the delete.
    NOTE: Use the ‘Revert List‘ option on the display_grid {Right-Click} ‘ menu to undo this function.
  • Rename‘ the selected songs in the work-list. Any number of songs can be renamed at the same time. This feature offers the ability to rename songs across all paths a song may be in.
  • Cut‘ the selected songs from the work-list. Any number of songs can be cut at the same time. You are not asked to confirm the cut.
    NOTE: Use the ‘Revert List‘ option on the display_grid {Right-Click} ‘ menu to undo this function.
  • Open the ‘Review Cut Songs‘ window that shows all of the songs that have been cut.
  • Discard‘ the songs that have been cut. You are not asked to confirm the discard.
  • Accumulate Cuts Until Pasted‘ – Check (v) this option to have the player accumulate the songs that are cut until you paste them into a list or create a new list with them.
  • Use the options on this ‘Paste Items‘ sub-menu to perform the associated functions.

    NOTE: This option is only available when a single song or a block of songs is selected.
  • Use the options on the ‘Move Selected Items to …‘ sub-menu to perform the associated function.

  • Always Hide Disabled Options‘ – Check (√) this option to always hide the disabled options on this menu. Only those options that are available will be visible.
