Songs – Menu Options And Related Controls

Songs can be any audio file the player supports. At this time, they are ‘.mp3‘, ‘.wav‘ and ‘.wma‘. More are being added as development continues. Organize them any way you like in lists. Set their play parameters on an individual basis. Attach messages to them.

Songs Information

The first time songs are loaded into the player, they are analyzed to determine the following information which is then stored in the library.

  • Name of the audio file. Image of column header where the names of songs are displayed.
  • Path of the audio file. Image of column header where the path of songs is displayed.
  • Duration of the audio file. Image of column header where the duration of songs is displayed.
  • Silence at the ‘beginning‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the amount of silence trimmed from the beginning of songs is displayed.
  • Silence at the ‘end‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the amount of silence trimmed from the end of songs is displayed.

This information is taken from the tag data of the audio file. The player is not responsible for the accuracy of this information.

  • Audio file name. Image of column header where the tag name of songs is displayed.
  • Artist name. Image of column header where the tag artist of songs is displayed.
  • Album name. Image of column header where the tag album of songs is displayed.
  • Year of the audio file. Image of column header where the tag album year of songs is displayed.
Songs Controls

Songs Menu Options

Options always apply to the current worklistImage shows how the 'work-list' is identified in the display grid..

  • Add to the end. Add any number of them at one time.
    NOTE: Use ‘Sort Songs In …‘ option on the display grid {right-click} menu to put the songs in alphabetical order.
  • Insert before the selected item. Inserted any number of them at one time.
    NOTE: Use ‘Sort Songs In …‘ option on the display grid {right-click} menu to put the songs in alphabetical order.
  • Delete Any number of them can be deleted at one time. The player does not ask for confirmation of the delete.
    NOTE: Use ‘Revert List‘ option on the display grid {right-click} menu to undo this feature.
  • Rename the selected items. Any number can be renamed at one time. Rename an item across all paths it has been loaded from.
  • Cut the selected items. Any number can be cut at one time. The player does not ask for confirmation of the cut.
    NOTE: Use ‘Revert List‘ option on the display grid {right-click} menu to undo this feature.
  • Review Cut Songs window shows all of the items that have been cut.
  • Discard the songs that have been cut. The player does not ask for confirmation of the discard.
  • Accumulate Cuts Until Pasted – Check (√) this option to accumulate the items that are cut until they are paste into a list or create a new list with them.
  • Paste Items sub-menu offers the following options.

    NOTE: This option is only available when you select a single song or a block of them.
  • Move Selected Items to … sub-menu to offers the following options.

  • Check (√) the last option to always hide any disabled options on this menu.
