Songs – Menu Options And Related Controls

Songs can be any audio file the player supports. At this time, they are ‘.mp3‘, ‘.wav‘ and ‘.wma‘. More are being added as development continues. Organize them any way you like in lists. Set their play parameters on an individual basis. Attach messages to them.

The first time songs are loaded into the player, they are analyzed to determine the following information which is then stored in the songs library.

  • The ‘name‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the names of songs are displayed.
  • The ‘path‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the path of songs is displayed.
  • The ‘duration‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the duration of songs is displayed.
  • Silence at the ‘beginning‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the amount of silence trimmed from the beginning of songs is displayed.
  • Silence at the ‘end‘ of the audio file. Image of column header where the amount of silence trimmed from the end of songs is displayed.

This information is taken from the tag data of the audio file.

  • Audio file name. Image of column header where the tag name of songs is displayed.
  • Artist name. Image of column header where the tag artist of songs is displayed.
  • Album name. Image of column header where the tag album of songs is displayed.
  • Year of the audio file. Image of column header where the tag album year of songs is displayed.

Options apply to the current worklistImage shows how the 'work-list' is identified in the display grid..

  • Add songs to the end. Any number of songs can be added at the same time.
    NOTE: Use the Sort Songs In List … option to put the songs in alphabetical order.
  • Insert songs before the selected item. Any number of songs can be inserted at the same time.
    NOTE: Use the Sort Songs In List … option to put the songs in alphabetical order.
  • Delete songs. Any number of songs can be deleted at the same time. You are not asked to confirm the delete.
    NOTE: Use the Revert List option to undo this feature.
  • Rename the selected items. Any number can be renamed at the same time. This feature lets you rename an item across all paths it has been found in.
  • Cut the selected items. Any number can be cut at the same time. You are not asked to confirm the cut.
    NOTE: Use the Revert List option to undo this feature.
  • Review Cut Songs window shows all of the items that have been cut.
  • Discard the songs that have been cut. You are not asked to confirm the discard.
  • Accumulate Cuts Until Pasted – Check (√) this option to have the player accumulate the items that are cut until you paste them into a list or create a new list with them.
  • Paste Items sub-menu offers the following options.

    NOTE: This option is only available when you select a single song or a block of songs.
  • Move Selected Items to … sub-menu to offers the following options.

  • Check (√) the last option to always hide any disabled options on this menu.
